Background

Syntax has been a trusted supplier for Stirland Paterson for the past four years. The relationship began in 2006 with the IT Services division.

The relationship has been built up over a period of time. Stirland Paterson has experienced substantial growth in the past few years and their IT systems are crucial to their continued expansion and the provision of first class customer service. With tight print deadlines, the support of their IT systems is crucial and Syntax has provided them with remote and on-site support services.

A mixed stock of 35 PC and Apple workstations is supported together with two servers. An annual review of their IT technology conducted by Syntax allows Stirland Paterson to plan their IT strategy and investment to meet the challenges of a growing business.

All hardware requirements are supplied and installed by Syntax and a recent large project to implement digital pre-press technology from Kodak was fully supported by Syntax. Additional services provided include email security and Sage 50 software development services.

Innes England Terminates Lease on Spam

Among the clients benefiting from Mailminder is Innes England, the largest independent Commercial Property Consultants in the East Midlands, who were an easy target for junk email and virus spammers, due to their policy of using actual names in their marketing material.

Innes England Director Tim Garratt explained:"We really wanted to use people's actual names to emphasise the personal approach we use with customers and prospects alike but this did mean we were getting around 200,000 emails a month, >90% of which were spam. 

This spam issue was doubly frustrating due to the fact that we make great use of BlackBerryTM handhelds and Smartphone devices, hence needing a flexible but effective solution that would not only stop the spam emails, but give us the facility to double check that we weren't missing important emails. 

Once Syntax IT Services had implemented Mailminder and worked with our technical team in locking our servers and network down, we had a system that was 99.99% effective at stopping junk email, spam and viruses."

Syntax IT Services developed their managed, hosted anti-spam solution Mailminder in response to their customers' need for a flexible corporate strength solution with small business price tag.

Project Overview;

Syntax IT Services were approached to design and develop a, stock control and sales order processing system to replace Microsoft's Midrange ERP solution 'Navision' now known as Dynamics AX, an improved, simplified solution to address stock control, sales order processing, scheduling and communication between different departments and customers was required. After a comprehensive analysis of the system requirements and a review of potential off the shelf solutions for the client, Syntax IT Services developed a bespoke solution.

Interaction with Sage Line 50;

• SOP customer and supplier data is directly linked to Sage Line 50 customer data such as customer address, delivery addresses, and contact details, allows users to see account status i.e. account open, account on hold.
• SOP products are created using a BOM (Bill of materials) items can be related to a stock item with in Sage.
• Controls Stock within Sage Line 50, allocates stock upon creation of sales order and updates allocated/free stock when invoices are created.
• Automated SL Invoicing, when producing an invoice within SOP SL invoice posted into Sage Line 50.

Administration System;

• Easily add other staff members, change passwords, contact details.
• View KPI’s across all activity not limited to sales performance.
• Generate reports.
