Security
Syntax DataShield uses streamed encryption using 448 bit encryption (military grade) compression.
The Syntax DataShield software compresses and encrypts your data on your computer before backing up to the backup server.
Compression
Syntax DataShield compresses and encrypts your backup data at the client machine itself and the compressed data is then transferred to our backup servers. Our software uses streamed compression of the backup data on the client side by using a well known algorithm. The compression ratio depends on the type of the file/folders configured for backup. For example, Excel and Word files, depending upon the content of the files get compressed to about 80% to 90%. If the backup data is already compressed (for example: jpg, gif or zip files), then the compression ratio will be lower.

Incremental backups capture byte level changes in your databases
The Exchange Server Plugin backup uses the VSS API [Volume Shadow Copy Services] for Exchange Server 2010 and ESE API for other lower versions of Exchange to backup Exchange Server databases. In Exchange Server backup, the initial backup will be compressed and dumped locally and thereafter transferred to the secure offsite backup server. Locally dumped files will be deleted once the files are successfully transferred to the backup server thus releasing disk space in the local exchange server.
Backup all data as a windows service, so there is no need to be logged on to the server for backups to run. It will backup live Exchange or SQL databases. It can fully restore entire SQL databases or Exchange information stores after a complete loss.

Disk Imaging can be used to create an exact disk image of your hard drive. These are very useful if you have a major server crash or hard disk failure. The system can be put back exactly using the restored image.
Incremental: The disk imaging also works incrementally allowing you to only backup the changes. You can then build up a library of disk images for use in recovery.
The disk imaging file integrates into the windows recovery console and can be used by booting from a windows CD.
Restored bare metal disk Images can also be used as a virtual machine, and boot up in VMWare or Virtual PC environment. In most cases this can be done in a few minutes, keeping server downtime to a minimum.

Syntax On Store
Dedicated on-site backup box. This will sit on your network and backup your data over the LAN. The data is then automatically mirrored off site to the Syntax ITS secure mirror.
We can supply a dedicated private backup server. It's a real server with real components. Ideal if you have a mobile workforce or several servers.
The server can be managed entirely through a control panel.
