Jarred Smith and Matt Harrison attended the DDRF Member visit to TEW Engineering, Nottingham, last week.
This year TEW are celebrating their Centenary year, and invited fellow DDRF members to their Nottingham Head office and factory to see how, 100 years after foundation, they have built a sizable engineering business delivering a wide range of bespoke solutions to the Rail and other Industries.
“It so interesting to see such a well established company like TEW in action. To be able to celebrate the centenary year of a company like this is a real milestone – they should be very proud! “
The visit started with a presentation from the Marketing Director who talked about the origins of the company. After this, the tour consisted of visiting 4 different areas of the business – Netpractice, TEW Engineering, TEW Control & Display and TEW Plus.
Each section of the business was hosted by the director of that part of the business – they explained what they did within their part of the company.
Attendees were also shown the production line for roof linings of Land Rovers/Range Rovers, and they also talked about the benefits of 3D Printing and the advantages it will bring in cost reduction and decreasing time to market for products.
“We really value being part of organisations like the DDRF who set up visits and celebrations such as this. With the DDRF celebrating 175 years of Derby’s Railway this year, its a very fitting event for TEW to host – a double celebration!”
Syntax are now very much looking forward to the DDRF Annual pre conference dinner next week!
