Syntax have had an extremely busy week!

On Wednesday evening the Syntax Rail Team attended the Derby and Derbyshire Rail Forum (DDRF) Pre Conference Dinner which was held at Derbyshire County Cricket Club. The event saw the region’s most prestigious Rail companies gather to enjoy an evening of networking. Lilian Greenwood MP, Shadow Minister for Transport, gave a great talk which also celebrated the 175th year of Derby Railways, of which Syntax are one of the supporting organisations (http://www.derby175.co.uk/support.html).

Syntax had a table of 10 at the dinner – attendees were Roger Frost (Managing Director), Laura Smit (Manager of the Engineering Team), Sarah Gibson (Operations Manager), Ben Anderson, Caroline Evans, Alex Cameron (Rail Recruitment Consultants), Jarred Smith (Advanced Engineering Recruitment Consultant), Chris Beck and Charlotte Clowes (IT Recruitment Consultants).

Everyone from Syntax’s Rail team thoroughly enjoyed the evening and the opportunities for networking were invaluable.

Laura Smit and Roger Frost also attended the DDRF Annual Conference the following day “The Challenge of CP5 – Building Tomorrows Railway”. Laura Smit commented,

“It’s been a great few days with the DDRF and all our fellow members. Syntax Rail really value our membership of the DDRF – events like this are great to be a part of”.

Thursday afternoon also saw the launch of Enscite (http://www.enscite.co.uk/). Encscite is a joint venture between Derby City Council, The University of Derby, Aston University, and Cranfield University. Enscite offers a range of support services to help SME’s win and grow business in the aerospace, automotive, and rail sectors. Syntax were pleased to be a part of the launch. Sarah Gibson, Operations Manager, added

“ Enscite is a very exciting venture and we are very proud to be involved with the launch. The slogan “Rethinking Engineering Supply Chains” is extremely pertinent to us, and we look forward to seeing how much of a benefit Enscite will be to Derby and the surrounding areas”.

A very busy week for Syntax! We are looking forward to everything we have planned for next week……….
