Microsoft have made Office 2016 available for Office ProPlus subscriptions from 22nd September 2015. Although this version has been available since September 22nd, you only have until February 2016 to decide on whether to upgrade or to opt out.
Microsoft have also announced that the Office 2013 package will only receive updates on the Office 365 service until September 2016. After September 2016, there will be no additional updates for the Office 2013 version. Both Security and Feature updates will cease for Office 2013.
Microsoft have also introduced two new ways to keep your copy of Office up-to-date, which are explained below:
Current Branch: you will receive monthly Feature and Security updates, meaning that you always have the most current Office apps and capabilities deployed.
Current Branch for Business: this update model rolls out Feature updates on a tri-annual basis, delivering three cumulative Feature updates per year while continuing to offer monthly security updates.
